The Smart Decision
I’m just going to come right out and say it: modern electronic watches are bad.
Beneath the shallow prestige of shiny gadgets lies a long list of problems the average consumer can’t avoid.
The smartwatch fad is dying — and fast.
From limited battery charge cycles to software updates that brick devices overnight, returning customers are hesitant to make the same mistake twice.
It’s not the early 2000s anymore. Consumers are wiser than ever. You can’t just dangle the latest tech trinket in front of our faces and expect us to line up at your door. That’s right, I’m looking at you, Apple.
We know about the pre-installed bloatware. We know about device slowdowns, planned obsolescence, and the constant technological “enshittification” you push just to sell the next big thing.
That’s exactly why nobody at the Super Bowl was talking about the latest Shamsung Smort Watch.
We were too busy fixating on the Jacob & Co on Tom Brady’s wrist — a real piece of art. A tiny perpetual engine, tirelessly fighting gravity to deliver precision timing day after day.
No software updates. No constant charging. No unresponsive touchscreens. And best of all — no ads pushed onto your wrist.
Just elegant, reliable time.
Sure, Tom’s watch might be solid gold, encrusted with so many diamonds you can barely see the metal — but mechanical watches don’t have to be that extravagant to hold value.
While every timepiece might aspire to greatness, not every watch needs to be the Le Mans on Steve McQueen’s wrist to matter.
Value doesn’t mean skyrocketing prices like Bitcoin. Value means working — and continuing to work — day after day, year after year. A trusted companion on your arm, keeping you punctual.
I just serviced a mechanical watch from 1941. It’s being passed down from a grandfather to his grandson — and it’s still keeping perfect time.
Try that one, Apple
